About Hot Melt Nozzles for Nordson Systems
Nordson hot melt nozzles are the final point of contact between the adhesive and the substrate, determining the shape and size of the adhesive pattern. Precise and consistent adhesive patterns are crucial for achieving strong bonds, minimizing waste, and ensuring product quality. Different nozzle types are designed for specific adhesive dispensing needs, whether for beads, dots, spray patterns, or specialized applications like Controlled Fiberization. Choosing the right nozzle is vital for achieving optimal bonding results and meeting the specific demands of each application.
Nordson Saturn nozzles, recognized for their color-coded rings denoting orifice size and engagement length, are widely used for bead and dot dispensing. These nozzles come in single-orifice and multi-orifice configurations, with varying orifice diameters to control bead width and engagement lengths to influence flow rate and velocity. Right-angle Saturn nozzles are also available for dispensing adhesive perpendicular to the applicator module, providing versatility for different application geometries.
Controlled Fiberization (CF) nozzles, specifically designed for use with CF200 applicators, are employed for non-contact spray applications. These nozzles utilize a rapidly vibrating diaphragm to atomize the adhesive into fine fibers, creating a wide, consistent spray pattern ideal for covering large areas. CF nozzles are offered in various configurations to control spray width and fiberization characteristics, ensuring optimal adhesive coverage and bonding strength for diverse applications.
