These biodegradable hot glue pellets are a more sustainable bulk hot melt solution compared to standard hot melt products. The Tecbond 214B adhesive is engineered to deliver consistent performance while providing an environmentally-conscious solution for businesses.

Common Applications

This product is designed primarily for manual packaging applications, including wrap-around cartons and POS display boxes. It is biodegradable while still providing excellent adhesion on various substrates, including uncoated cardboard and paper. The adhesive has the added bonus of being compliant with FDA 175.105 standards, so it is safe for indirect food contact.

Biodegradable Properties

Tecbond 214B is 45% bio-based and non-toxic. It has been tested to meet the following certifications:

• ASTM D6400
• EN13432
• ASTM D6954

Biodegradable under industrial composting conditions, the pellets will start the degradation process when exposed to oxygen, UV light, and heat. After the long-chain polymers are broken down, microorganisms will consume the remaining material without leaving behind any microplastics or other harmful byproducts.

Because the Tecbond 214B hot melt will begin to degrade as soon as it is exposed to oxygen, UV light, and heat, proper storage is imperative. To maintain quality and effectiveness, store the adhesive in its original packaging, away from direct sunlight, and at temperatures below 86°F (30°C).
